Juan Carlos Santarriaga –“Organic Tequila discover the difference”
Worldwide, tequila is known as the Mexican national drink. This is one of the first products Juan Carlos Santarriaga was looking for when he first came to Canada in 2007 from Mexico. Much to his disappointment, he couldn’t find good quality tequilas in Canada.
After working in the logistics and supply chains field in Alberta, Juan Carlos considered starting his own import-export business. Car-Net Import and Export imports “Buen Amigo and Don Alvaro” organics tequilas from Mexico to sell to liquor stores, restaurants and hotels in Calgary and surrounding areas. Because importing alcohol requires multiple regulatory and advertising constraints, the approval process was quite long. But Juan Carlos is very conscientious about doing everything legally.
A presentation at the Calgary Business Link in June 2012, with product samples and Mexican food, will officially launch Car-Net to customers. Juan Carlos wants Canadians to experience multiple tequila tastes: as a shot, or with grapefruit, coke, tomato juice and more different ways to mix tequila…
As his business progresses, Juan Carlos expects to become co-owner of the Buen Amigo and Don Alvaro brands for Canada and expand sales to the rest of Alberta and other provinces. He also would like to start selling agave syrup, a non-alcoholic beverage made of the same plant as tequila. You can find out more about Juan Carlos’ product by contacting him at:
